ACTIVITIES:

  1. Religious and Spiritual Activity:

Programmes in Shrine: Shrine is main centre of all spiritual activities of the Ashram. People from different Vivekananda Seva Mandal Malkapur Shirnespectrums of society, irrespective of caste, creed, race, nationality are welcomed. Visitors can join during daily vesper services or are allowed to practice silent prayers or meditation. Daily worship at temple begins at dawn with Morning Prayer and at dusk vesper services are offered with Evening Aarti. Other than daily services special days as Birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Ma, Swami Vivekananda, Ramnavami, Janmashtami, Shivaratri, Durgaashtami, Guru Purnima etc. are been observed as per the festival calendar of Ramakrishna Math Nagpur with Special Puja and Bhajans. On every Ekadashi, RamNaam Sankirtan takes place. In Navaratri every day, Mahishasuramardini Stotra is chanted in the Ashram.

Discourses and Retreats: Arranging Spiritual Discourses by the Monks of Ramakrishna Order and Eminent Personalities. Occasionally every year one day Spiritual Retreat is arranged for the devotees and for the youths.

2. Personal Development and Educational Activities: “Men, men, these are wanted; everything else will be ready, but strong, vigorous, believing young men, sincere to the backbone, are wanted. A hundred such & the world will becomes revolutionized.” – Swami Vivekananda.

The basis of all systems, social or political, rests upon the Vivekananda Seva Mandal Malkapur Educationalgoodness of men. No nation is great or good because parliament enacts this or that, but because its men are great and good. Men are more valuable than all the wealth of the world. With these ideas and ideals of Swami Vivekananda and him as an inspiration every Sunday in campus of Ashram we hold a weekly programmes for children, girls and youths where we try to manifest latent energy of youth & put them in direction of Nation Building and Spiritual Awakening, through various different activities. In modern times, vitality of Value Education is rigorously felt; especially for children who are exposed to diverse aspects of life through different media’s and internet. To add up challenges of our times are enormous. To get our children ready for these vanities and instigate them with Values, every Sunday we conduct a programmes for children too.

  • Balak Sangha: For imparting moral and spiritual education to the school going children, the Balak Sangha of the Ashram holds classes for children on every Sunday morning. They are taught Chanting Hymns and Bhajans, Moral and Spiritual Story Telling, Yoga and Games etc. Children play dramas on the lives of Holy Trio on various occasions.
  • Sanskrit Classes: To propagate the Indian Culture among the students, the Sanskrit Language classes are arranged for them.
  • Girl’s Sarada Sangha: For all round development of young girls, classes are arranged on various topics on every Sunday.
  • Indian Classical Music Classes: To propagate the Indian Culture among the youth especially Indian Classical Music instrumental and vocal, classes are arranged for the students and Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mumbai conducts the examination in the Ashram.
  • Educational Material Distribution: The poor and needy students are given a set of study material like Note books, Pen, Pencil, Eraser, Pencil Sharpener, Hanuman Chalisa and the photo and sayings of Swami Vivekananda.
  • Vivekananda Public Library: To encourage the habit of reading, the Ashram runs the library in which good number of books are there on various subjects in Marathi, Hindi and English Language.

    Abhyasika: For the students preparing for Competitive Examinations, the study room facility is provided. The guidance and coaching classes are arranged for them. The books required for preparation are kept in the study room.

  • National Youth day Celebration: 12th January, the birthday of Swami Vivekananda is celebrated as National Youth day. On this occasion various programmes like procession by the students, lectures by eminent speakers are arranged.
  • Vivekananda Vidyarthi Bhavan Boys' Hostel
    Vivekananda Vidyarthi Bhavan (Boys’ Hostel)

    Vivekananda Vidyarthi Bhavan (Boys Hostel): On the auspicious day of Ramnavami (10th April 2022) foundation stone was laid for proposed hostel for poor and needy boys. Local students aspiring for competitive exams of nearby villages were facing problem of lodging and boarding at Malkapur. So this project was undertaken by the Ashrama. An estimated expenses will be Rs.15,00,000. It was inaugurated on 10th October 2022 by Srimat Swami Jnanagamyananda Maharaj of Ramakrishna Math Nagpur.

3. Health care: “Serve man as potentially Divine”, Selfless service is an important teaching of the Holy Trio. Responding to the urgent medical and health needs of the poor, the Ashram runs a Charitable Dispensary providing Homeopathy and Ayurvedic treatments to the patients. Occasionally Medical Camps are arranged.

4. Relief Work:

  • Material Help to needy People: Clothing are provided to poor and needy women and Sewing classes are arranged for the girls. Similarly blankets are distributed to the poor people during winter season.
  • Volunteers: Young volunteers of Ashram are always ready for any relief work to be done whenever necessary, then it may be flood relief or any natural calamities or pandemic. They give services in the centres of Ramakrishna Order during the events like temple opening, Spiritual retreats etc.

5. Book-Sales and Exhibitions:

    • Book-Sales: To propagate the ideals of Holy Trio, weVivekananda Seva Mandal Malkapur Book-sale sell books on Ramakrishna-Vivekananda-Vedanta Literature, Scriptures such as Upanishads, Gita, etc. and other books on spiritual life, religion, yoga, meditation, value education, personality development, etc. We also sell books, booklets, etc. especially meant for children. Book-Sales counters are opened at various places occasionally.
    • Exhibition: To spread the message of Holy Trio, the pictorial exhibitions are arranged in nearby schools and colleges along with book sales.

JOIN AS VOLUNTEER:

There is no specific requirement or qualification for visiting and taking part in the various activities of the Ashram. Many people volunteer their time and energy to aid the various service oriented activities of the Ashram. The daily morning Prayer and evening Aarti and devotional singing is a part of daily activity.
